39 YEARS OF building strong volleyball teams
Guy Enriques Team Camp (GETC) started in 1987, when Coach Enriques took the reins as the Head Coach of the Oregon State Women’s Volleyball Program. With little more than 6 years of high school coaching experience at Gresham High School, Coach Guy led the Oregon State Beavers from the bottom of the PAC 10 Conference to a 3rd place finish in the PAC and a top 20 National ranking. For his efforts he was awarded a PAC-10 Coach of the Year and Regional Coach of the Year Award. Coach Guy knew the value of TEAM and he started his first camp with only 6 local teams and today attracts close to 90 teams each summer.

Creating the best Version of each player, Grooming their Mental Toughness and getting them to buy into the belief of “We before Me” is the foundation of Guy Enriques Team Camp (GETC).
Along with building individual and team character, Coach Guy has developed leading-edge practice strategies that redefine the way we practice, increases the speed of improvement and produces visible and tangible results. Through the use of Coach Guy’s Athletic Powerbook, athletes and coaches can easily and quickly take daily practice stats and accurately measure the progress we make each day. When we take the time to manage the skills we value (serve, receive, ball control), rapid improvement occurs.

Why do high school teams return year after year?
High School Coaches bring their teams to GETC year after year because they share a common bond. They believe that Success is not measured in wins, losses, trophies, or state titles…but measured by “Who we become in the process” and puts strong emphasis in “Creating the Best Version of Themselves,” is the GETC way.

The fundamental idea of “Building People” in lockstep with teaching coaching principles that produce results is the reason so many teams return. No matter the season outcome, if athletes learn to take responsibility for their own journey and learn to control their thinking, grow as a person, improve as a volleyball athlete and be a positive contributor to the team…players will cherish their time at camp and have a chance to become great people and life-long learners.
GETC is more than just a Team Volleyball Camp…it is an opportunity to teach our athletes to “Take responsibility for their own success” and manage their thinking to create “The Best Version of Themselves.” For many athletes and teams, GETC is the highlight of their summer and is often a life-changing event.
